New News! Only a Month Late

I’m so far behind, where to start

Did a Proto-Ultima at the end of February. It went well, and I got to play with some of my new chi blast gear.

Yes, I know I was /drk, but I’m more focusing on the +80 part (with a mushpot on of course).

Which got me this nice blast.

It also got me dispelled, but c’est la vie.

There were also some really good drops! I blame my 707 Chi Blast for them.

The next day, I went and did Shadows of the Departed, in order to get ready for Apocalypse Nigh fight (soon I hope).

It was a lot of fun, even with a lolPUP. 🙂

And, um… crap.

I deleveled my whm 🙁 to 36 even. Stupid job, about 200 shy of getting my level back too. Oh well, its only a chi blasting sub.

I also finally, after about 2 years, turned in my magic trash. Here’s a pic from the back room in Garliage. If you go there in the past, bombs aggro you through the door (but it may be openable with the key, I didn’t have one to try).

Sometime later, I did a couple avatars with Miz. We do a bunch of avatar fights to help pay for our limbo runs.

And I noticed something. The background that looks so neat in the cloisters, is a weather effect (same as the sky in the [S] areas, try it yourself, turn off weather and look at all the stars disapear).

Un-Gimpifing, Just a Little Bit

Just a quick update because I can’t sleep.

As mentioned previously, Ata finally got Evoker’s Pigaches +1. So, I took a picture and posted it.

In addition to this, I finally managed to cap my evasion on Thief. Evasion was bad, Marksmanship is proving slightly more annoying, as it is taking me about 100 bolts to gain 1 skill level. Its currently at 228 (cap of 230) because I ran out of bolts.

When I capped evasion, I switched to my Tatami shield, since more evasion is never bad, and I was going to try to kill Even Match – Tough’s with just Acid Bolts.

You can see how much I’ve used a shield.

Approximately one hour ago, I finished ToAU Mission 44. I’ve been stuck on this one since around September, and when I got the invite, I jumped on it.

I’m now done with the current ToAU missions on both Pyra and Ata. Ata is also a Rank 10 in both Bastok and Windurst. I don’t plan on doing the Sandy missions anytime soon, unless a change is made so I don’t lose my outposts.

Other than that, I hit 38 on Dancer, going to try for 50 before they introduce AF gears.

But I need sleep, night!

Boroka Bama

Friend in my LS said Boroka was up, so we got together a group and went to make him slightly less alive than he previously was.

I’ve never fought this NM before, so it was a fun fight. But was a lot simpler than expected.

This next picture would be perfect except for the ‘miss’ on the screen. Oh well that’s what I get for turning on the damage report.

No deaths, although there were a couple close calls.

Yay! Thief kill 4tw. The Auditory Torque was what we were after, so it worked out well. The elf pictured — Yenvious — ended up with it. Skulker’s Cape was sold, and probably used to buy a silent oil.

Since this didn’t fit anywhere else, and this is already a large post, I wanted to post this pic here.

I helped the AF group do CoP 8-2 and the map acquisition quest. The map part… sucked, a lot. But in the end, we all got it.

For some strange reason, I always hit the NM on Darksday. I was hoping that for once, maybe, I would hit on some other day, but no, Darksday again.

This time, he really spammed the sleepga2.

Monking it Up

Well, during the experience of capping my experience points on Summoner, Thief, and Monk (to compliment my existing capped exp on my White Mage) in Campaign. I managed to get this little item.

That’s the 6th rank in Campaign, of a total of 12 currently available. I’m hoping to have the 10th rank by the expansion next month.

Well, going along with the Monk theme, in an amazingly close Apollyon SW (down to 60 seconds remaining on 2nd floor before we got the time chest), I got final stinged.

However, 879 HP is just over half of my normal geared up hit points.

Speaking of Hit Points, I’ve managed to boost my total HP to over 2000.

I do cheat a little. I have 30 MP which is converted to HP. The one earring is a Brutal, the other is an Intruder earring.

I just got the intruder this week as well (and no, you can’t have ToD).

While waiting for Centurio to pop, I hunted the Dune Widow. I got a claim, but this is all it dropped for me.

Finally, the most important part of this post.

Please congratulate Mizuhito on getting his Melee Cyclas, and hitting 4/5 on Monk AFv2.

And that is it, the week of the monk.

Hopefully, a couple more Melee Cyclas fall — as we are farming the glacier for the next week — and I can not only beat my 2038 HP, but can also hit 6/6 on Monk AFv2.

I made a mule on Diabolos and went to visit my old friend Virmythrax. Got to see her Mog House too. I like what she’s done with the place, it is quite organized, unlike mine, which is, very Spartan. I need to get one of those tables for my fishtank.

This is just one of those pics that had to be posted. From Apollyon NE, the one boss Cronos, was hiding in a tree. I liked it, but the picture lost much in the resizing.

Quick Updates

So I haven’t really posted in a week, but I should have an update ready soon

In the past week I have

1) Beaten Dynamis – Beaucedine
2) Another Proto-Ultima win
3) Beaten Dynamis – Xarcabard (including Dynamis Lord)
4) Finished my Dark Knight to 37 (for mnk/drk on above mentioned Dynamis Lord)
5) Leveled my Samauri to 15
6) Leveled my Dancer to 24

It has been a busy week.

There was also the virus scare that really hit home for a lot of FFXI Players. I know the thought of losing both of my characters was horrible, but at least there was no way to migrate them to another server (still in 90-day cooldown from last migration).

From start to finish was under 4 minutes.

Proto-Ultima and Dynamis-Qufim, plus, update on MND Post from Below

As promised, here are some pics from Proto-Ultima. Since I also managed to do a Dynamis-Qufim, I felt like adding them in too.

First engage the creature.

Since I hit 763 several times with Chi Blast, I think that’s the max I was currently able to do to him. Hopefully, that has now changed :). See below.

Another picture from the battle. This looks like its about 50%.

Dead! I had no idea how this would end until it did. First time fighting it, and we won! Ultima is quite a bit harder than Omega, but this went much smoother than I thought going in.

And the drops. Congrats to Lusha on the head and Mach on the pants. (These are good drops)

Moving on, Dynamis-Qufim

Wootness, got the key item for winning.

PLD Boots -1 and MNK Cape from the same monster.

Both items in treasure pool at the same time. And I win the lot! In the previous post I mentioned how I’d probably never have it and completly wrote it off of my Chi Blast gear. Then 3 hours later, I get it. Wow.

WHM boots -1 and DRG Belt in treasure pool at the same time too.

And wow, a SMN Cape falls. Its really an amazing item, which went to Lusha (leader of my Limbus shell, and really nice person).

4/6 on MNK AFv2. Body and Head to go.

From the CS you get after winning Dynamis-Qufim.
