Dynamis – Tavnazia, Part 2

All good part 1’s need a part 2.  And here it is.

After we crossed the bridge at the end of part 1, we fought some Hydra.  They were nasty, but the Black Mage, White Mage, Red Mage trio were not too difficult.

2dyT1

The Melee trio of Monk, Thief, Warrior proved a bit more difficult, and I ended up tanking during the Monk’s Hundred Fists (at least for a couple seconds)

2dyT2

The Monk had some TP move called Shackled Fists.  It looked, and hit, like a renamed Final Heaven.  If you’ve never seen a Monk get 1-shotted before, here you go.

2dyT3

A closer look at the damage.  OUCH!  1468.

2dyT4

A pic of the Hydra Beastmaster and his pet Hound.

2dyT5

On the next floor, we ran into some Kindred.  Of course no dynamis would be complete without a summoner.

2dyT6

And some AF!  This is only the second pair of these I’ve ever seen fall.  Cool.  The person who got this is now 5/5 on White Mage AFv2.

2dyT7

More shinnies in the treasure pool.  Hydra Gaiters.

2dyT8

I just thought this picture was neat, so I included it.

2dyT9

As the run came to an end, we got out first big link of the night.  But with under 10 minutes left, we were basically finished already.  Notice how in these pictures there are usually only 3 people alive, myself, Irons as thief, and Mptythoughts on his Warrior.

2dyT10

This is Pyra’s final stand.  Vae Victis!

Dynamis – Tavnazia, Part 1

Here we go, at long last, my pictures from Dynamis – Tavnazia.

From the opening CS.  Unlike the other Dreamland Dynamii, this one is much darker, and Diabolos is barely visible, surrounded in a very bright light.

dyTcs1 dyTcs2

And part of the text, weird.

dyTcs3

I’m not sure anyone knows what the ‘storyline’ behind dreamland dynamis really is.  I know I’ve got no clue.

Anyways, you enter, subless as always, and have to get time right away (start with 15 minutes, only allowing 18 members inside).

dyT1

After he is dead, run up to the middle floor.

dyT2

One of the time monsters is a Nightmare Worm.  Think Phantom Worm on steroids.  He likes to do draw-in then immediately stonega4 or tremors.  Luckily (for me at least) he only used tremors.  1600 HP comes in handy when he uses a 400 damage to all move twice in a row.

Mages were not so lucky.

dyT3 dyT4

Hey look, NPCs in a dyanmis.

dyT5

Running across the bridge in the safehold.

dyT6

Sure, send the cats in first.

dyT7

Nightmare Hornets, nasty guys that have a TP move that gives them Hundred Fists.  Wouldn’t be too bad, except the zone is full of them.

End of part 1.  In an effort to not have huge posts, this post was split in two.

Wall o’ Taru

Before runs, it is apparently tradition in KI to do a wall of taru.  Enjoy!

Dynamis – Valkrum

I know at one point, my goal in migrating to Caitsith was to become somewhat less busy, but the opposite seams to be happening.  I’m more busy than I was before, but its fun, and I’m having a blast.

But anyways, moving along.

Dynamis – Valkrum

First entrance, and death.  We had a bad sheep link which caused us some problems.  Also, no subjobs yet.

dyV1

Yay the non-aggroing boss.  Then we aggroed it.

dyv2

dyV3

dyV4

And the win!  That’s 3/3, giving me access to Tavnazia.

dyV5

After the win, its off to farming *grin*

dyV6

And we get a Bard Cape.  Neat.

dyV7

And 3 AF’s in the treasure pool at the same time

dyV8

Ohhh shiney CS at the end.

dyV9

dyV10

Part of the final CS.

dyV11

Coming up soon, Proto-Omega, WotG Mission Pics and Dynamis – Tavnazia Pictures.  They were going to be in this post, but it turned out to be too long (again).

I’m doing so much I can’t keep up with the pictures, but I’ll try.

Dynamis-Buburimu

For me, Buburimu was a return visit, having last been there in … um … early 2006 (was in one of the first linkshells to win this one, way back in the day, but those screenshots are on my old computer, so finding them will be hard).

Needless to say, it has been a very long time since I was in Bubu, and it was Pyra’s first trip there (Ata has 3-4 wins there).

dyb1.png

This is what happens when body slam doesn’t get stunned.

dyb3.png

The two people at full health are the 2 THFs in this alliance. The rest who have HP just accepted Reraise.

This was the aftermath on the mage hill.

dyb4.png

I’m just including this because I got a kill shot. It doesn’t happen that much on THF, so I’m posting it.

dyb2.png

And the win! Just need Dynamis-Valkrum for access to Tavnazia. Although, I don’t know if I’ll be in the group to do the Dunes. Either way, the Dunes is like the Windy of Dreamlands — it kind of sucks and there is no guarantee you will win. Things can and go bad at the last minute and cost you the win.

dyb5.png

But anyways, after the win, we had about 70 minutes of farming. First up, Nightmare Crabs. No really, Nightmare Crabs.

dyb6.png

See? I didn’t lie. Although the jokes about Nightmare Cockatrice are much, much worse. I’m just glad we didn’t have vent for this, I probably would have lost concentration.

Here are most of the drops. At least we got two really nice items. I think this is the first PLD Cape they have ever seen, making this PLD the first 6/6 in the LS. The only other drop was a DRG Belt, which some lucky DRG was happy to get as it made him 6/6.

dyb7.png

And another picture. Buburimu really is the death dynamis, although *crosses fingers* I have yet to die in a KillerInstincts Dynamis.

dyb8.png

After dynamis, I was about to go to bed, until I noticed it was only 9 pm. So, since my DRK had just hit 20, I went to quest my Aspir scroll.

When I was there, I found this, which I thought needed to be pointed out.

gohu.png

It is a targetable item behind the door. It is 4 letters and is called simply, gohu. The first letter is lowercase, which doesn’t happen anywhere in this game. I thought it was odd.

Finally, I saw this picture and thought it needed to be shared with more people.

I was technically there for this event, so I can repost to my blog too. Original can be found here

loot2.png

That’s it for me. Now to unlock Dancer, as soon as this update finishes.

Proto-Ultima and Dynamis-Qufim, plus, update on MND Post from Below

As promised, here are some pics from Proto-Ultima. Since I also managed to do a Dynamis-Qufim, I felt like adding them in too.

First engage the creature.

ultima1.png

Since I hit 763 several times with Chi Blast, I think that’s the max I was currently able to do to him. Hopefully, that has now changed :). See below.
ultima2.png

Another picture from the battle. This looks like its about 50%.
ultima3.png

Dead! I had no idea how this would end until it did. First time fighting it, and we won! Ultima is quite a bit harder than Omega, but this went much smoother than I thought going in.
ultima4.png

And the drops. Congrats to Lusha on the head and Mach on the pants. (These are good drops)
ultima5.png

Moving on, Dynamis-Qufim

Cut Scene from the beginning of Dreamland Dynamis
dyq1.png

Wootness, got the key item for winning.
dyq2.png

Another picture from the Dynamis.
dyq3.png

PLD Boots -1 and MNK Cape from the same monster.
dyq4.png

Both items in treasure pool at the same time. And I win the lot! In the previous post I mentioned how I’d probably never have it and completly wrote it off of my Chi Blast gear. Then 3 hours later, I get it. Wow.
dyq5.png

WHM boots -1 and DRG Belt in treasure pool at the same time too.
dyq6.png

And wow, a SMN Cape falls. Its really an amazing item, which went to Lusha (leader of my Limbus shell, and really nice person).
dyq7.png

4/6 on MNK AFv2. Body and Head to go.
dyq8.png

From the CS you get after winning Dynamis-Qufim.
dyq9.png

That’s it for now. I’m tired and need sleep.

Dynamis Funness

First is first, something I’ve never seen before, AF (rdm even) falling on the first monster killed!

af-falls-on-first-monster.png

And if that wasn’t weird enough, AF also fell on the 3rd monster (which was MNK pants, and I got them which is the oddest thing). So the RDM (who I know) and I cleaned up early (although he also got RNG hat and SMN boots).

bmb-gets-boots-pyra-gets-pants.png

I got to have fun later. A NIN NM charmed me right after it kaboomed. Since I came as MNK, and hit like a truck, this happened.

pyra-kills-2-people.png

Mrbojengles (who is in the social I’m in with Bmberman) was a BLM, so killing him wasn’t all that hard. But Bigdog was a PLD, so I was proud of that one.

This was somewhat funny, since in Limbus the night before, the NIN tank got charmed and started beating on me. Those 1600 HP come in handy as the NIN couldn’t do enough damage fast enough 🙂 .

And finally, my Monking buddy on Caitsith, Mptythoughts. Very nice guy, and a lot of fun.

pyra-and-mpty-yay-monkeys

So yeah, I took the haidates off long enough to take this picture. The +kick attacks really does make a difference, but I missed a lot more, and WS damage went down without haidate on.

My First Non-AI Dynamis

The drops were insane. I’ve never seen so much in a single city run.

For starters, there were 60 people at the start, and we even had 64 at one point! The group has been together for the better part of 2 years now, and many leaders have 3-5 75 jobs.

dy_1.png

The pulling is handled very differently than any other LS I’ve ever been in. They just pull large groups (sometimes 10+ monsters and a statue or two). Very different than what I’m used to.

The drops were great, although quantity does not always imply quality….

dy_2.png

Woofie is the leader of the ls. She admits to trying to kill people. Shame on her!

dy_3.png

We nearly emptied the zone, including all repops. With 15-20 more minutes, we probably could have made everything dead.

There were some good drops too…it wasn’t all DRG.

dy_4.png

Final count was something crazy, I know there were 3 WAR, 2 RNG, 2 DRG, 2 THF, 1 BLM, 2 RDM, 1 DRK, 1 WHM, 1 NIN, 1 SAM. There were 3 AF drops on the steps at the beginning of Jeuno. Normal drop rate for cities for this group has been about 10-15, with a high of 25 one dynamis sandy (but 11 of those were BRD).

Dynamis – Bastok Repops

This is what Az doomed me to when he told me his way to do the final sac pull

dy_bas1.png

dy_bas2.png

You killed Pyra! You bastards!

Dynamis – Windhurst!

Hurray for winning this one. Its been a while since we’ve managed to 1) get the numbers, 2) get the zone, and 3) win it. Lots of good AF fell (but no smn, yet again. I’ve only ever seen that one fall once in 2 years of dynamis).

But anyways, congrats to all for the win.

On a personal note, I actually had fun trying some of the Sac pulls. I know that, for some reason, most of the ls usually tries very hard to keep me alive, even to the point of using PLDs for sac pulls. So, I was actually quite happy to get to test my luck on one of them. It was exciting, it was fun, and it gave me almost half a point of evasion skill up.

I just hope that limbus on sunday is as exciting. 🙂
