Warhammer NDA Expired, Here are Some Pictures

The Warhammer Online NDA partially expired last week, so here are some pictures I am now allowed to post.  These are from the early Dwarf vs Greenskin test.  While I was a part of the later test, it was on the Elder Test Server, so those pictures cannot be posted at this time.

This was the login screen.  It has been changed (sadly for the worse).  The orc was animated and would growl at you while waiting for you to log in.

This was the character creation start screen.  It too has changed, but this is what it looked like at one point.

Since this was the Dwarf vs Greenskin test, those are the only two races available.

What is probably the greatest part of this game is the Public Quest, or PQ system.  They has some scalability issues (if there are too few people, it cannot be completed, if there are too many, it finishes too fast and you have no chance of getting loot).

But it has improved, this is an early PQ for the Greenskins.

And another early PQ.

From the same PQ, a bunch of Black Orcs beating up on the final boss.  The Black Orc is a tank / damage class (I think).  I like it.

And a glitch from this PQ.

Trying to fight a dead target, but it shows full health on my screen.  I believe it was lag related.

Here was the overall map.  Not sure how much of the map it covers, but this is what it looked like.

With this game, you get a ‘Tome of Knowledge’, which records all of your quests and gives you a huge clue as to what to do.  You don’t need to hit an external info source to figure out what to do for everything.

Verdict.  Its fun.  I liked it.  But to play it, I would have to quit either FF or WoW.  If enough of my friends switch and leave one game, I would too.

Either way, I hope this game is a hit.  It is very fun.  The PvP is fantastic (no ganking like WoW), and the ‘encounters’ are a great way to handle PvP.  You also cannot accidentally get into the PvP area.  You know you are in the area.
